The 2015 Unibet PDC Masters saw Michael van Gerwen produce some tremendous darts, especially from the Quarter-finals onwards, this got me thinking how rarely we see a poor performance from van Gerwen in the latter stages of TV tournaments especially since his first PDC TV Major win at the 2012 World Grand Prix.

Breaking down the performances of van Gerwen in PDC TV Tournaments from the last 8 onwards since that World Grand Prix win in 2012 and his averages are very impressive.

As you will see from the small graphic since the WGP in 2012 his total average in PDC TV Tournaments (exc double start) is 101.7

From 36 matches he has averaged over 100 on 24 occasions. (The highest being this weekends 112 against van Barneveld).
He has only averaged under 98 on 6 occasions. (The lowest being 94.26 in the 2013 Masters against van Barneveld).
